Kingfisher International

2002-9: Kingfisher International is a mid-sized developer, manufacturer, and exporter of fibre test equipment.
Kingfisher International is owned and run by my parents, Bruce and Rosmin Robertson. It is a recipient of the Governor’s Export Award and an inductee
of the Victorian Manufacturers Hall of Fame. I have worked intermittently in various positions at the company for many years, reporting to various members of staff.

Website

The Kingfisher International website is a large technical information resource and product catalogue.
I have been the primary designer and webmaster of the site since 2002 (age 14). The site is large (around 400 pages) and made up of mostly static HTML.

  • Developing effective navigation for a complex product range with multi-dimensional selection factors
  • Development of a frontpage-editable, javascript-based, flat-file product selector in 2004.
  • Investment life-cycle: Original site was built by myself in 2002 after a long process of requirements elicitation.
Content has evolved, but structure and design still meeting client needs with only minor touch-ups.
